Data Set Description: The Digital Chart of the World is the most detailed global database on the market providing consistent treatment of geographic information worldwide, and is the best source of data for many areas of the globe. More than 200 attributes are organized into 17 thematic layers with text annotation for cities, mountains, lakes, and other geographic features.

Purpose of Data Set: The original purpose of the DCW was to create a database the largest scale, unclassified DMA map series, in digital vector format. The database was designed to support GIS applications rather than to generate hardcopy maps.

Data Set Description: Adminstrative boundaries and capitals at the first (Propinsi) internal level for Indonesia as of 1996. 1995 population estimates included. ADM2 Kabupaten boundaries available for individual propinsi as required.

Purpose of Data Set: For locating, geo-referencing and analysing attribute data or other information for Indonesia at the ADM1 level. ADM2 level can also be supplied for separate propinsi. Fitted to Digital Chart of the World (DCW) coastline and international boundaries for uniformity and coherence, and to allow the use of other DCW data themes.
