Global Carbon Project (GCP)’s latest publication estimates the daily emission drop by 17% as a result of coronavirus confinement. This reduction is equivalent to the percentage of decrease required year-on-year for the next decade to achieve the climate target.

The net reduction from surface transport is the largest among the sectors examined. “At their peak, emissions in individual countries decreased by -26% on average”. The relative change is most significant in aviation with a decrease in the daily activity of -75% (-60 to -90%).

調査したセクターの中で、地上輸送による純削減量が最も大きい結果となりました。論文の中で、「ピーク時には、各国の排出量は平均で26%減少した」と推定されています。相対的な変化は、日々の運航の減少を伴う航空業界において最も著しく、75%（60～90%）の減少となりました。
