温室効果ガスインベントリオフィス(GIO)は、2003年11月より毎年、アジア各国の温室効果ガスインベントリの作成に携わる研究者及び政府関係者を対象に、「アジア地域の温室効果ガスインベントリに関するワークショップ(WGIA)」を開催している。温室効果ガスインベントリとは、気候変動枠組条約第4条及び第12条に基づき各国が提出する責務を有する温室効果ガスの排出と吸収の目録のことである。ワークショップの目的は、地域諸国間の情報共有を促進することにより、各国の温室効果ガスインベントリの作成及び精度の向上に向けた活動を支援することである。

本刊行物は、2007年2月14－15日、インドネシア・ジャカルタにて開催した第4回WGIAの報告書である。
