Data files

Data files list [Click!]

3EID provides two types of data file on embodied environmental intensities. One is data files showing sectoral embodied environmental intensities and fundamental data used for calculating the intensities. Another one is data files representing a breakdown of embodied environmental intensity of each sector.

These data files are formatted for use with Excel (.xlsx, .xls). Users can select Excel format (.xlsx, .xls) or Zip compression format (.zip) to download the datafiles. The file sizes of the Excel format (.xlsx, .xls) are larger than those of the Zip format (.zip). It is recommended to download the Zip format files unless you need to open the Excel format files on-line using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

In terms of methods and data for calculation of the embodied intensities, please see "document files."

Embodied environmental intensity

The data files of embodied environmental intensities are composed of several worksheets that correspond to the process of calculating embodied environmental intensities. The data files are supplied by the type of environmental burden, by year, by sector classification level, and by basic prices (producer's price and consumer's price). Please note that not every type of data file is prepared.

Except for data of 2005, the embodied environmental intensities based on the consumer's price basis are the only ones for the case in which a consumer is a sector of expenditure of household consumption, which is a final demand sector.

Breakdown of embodied environmental intensity

Data files showing a breakdown of the embodied environmental intensities present the components of embodied environmental intensity based on the producer's price by sector, and sources causing environmental burdens, e.g., through the use of fossil fuels. These data help users to ascertain what quantities of emissions from which sectors are generated indirectly by the unit production of sector. Users can also ascertain the kind of fuel and quantity that are consumed directly and indirectly, as well as how much CO2 is emitted from each fuel by the unit of production.

The data files are compiled by the type of environmental burden, by year, and by sector classification level.
